Crispy Parmesan Eggs, 🥑 Toast & Berries. #postworkoutmeal 💥⠀ .⠀ Breakfast food is my favorite of the day.... no question. I like to experiment around with eggs & this did not disappoint! The Parmesan base adds the perfect touch. Are you down for a breakfast or brunch like this?⠀ .⠀ Here’s how I made everything:⠀ .⠀ 1.I sliced up half an avocado, put on @thesolacompany bread (3 net carbs a slice) and topped with everything but the bagel seasoning.⠀ .⠀ 2.I added some blueberries, feta, and leftover avocado slices to the side.⠀ .⠀ 3. Then I moved on to make the crispy Parmesan eggs.⠀ .⠀ 4.Get a pan on medium heat. Spray with olive oil.⠀ .⠀ 5. Add 1/4 cup to 1/3 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese to the pan in a circle.⠀ .⠀ 6. When the cheese starts to melt and firm up, crack an egg on top.⠀ .⠀ 7.Cook on medium until egg whites have been set. I like to put the lid on the pan to accelerate this. You do you.⠀ .⠀ 8. For whatever reason, everyone's first assumption is that training is the hard part. Getting to the gym, lifting with compound movements and overloading the body progressively over time. Maybe it isn't everyone's first choice of something to do after work, but that isn't the hard part. In fact, going to the gym and lifting is quite easy in nature. What is hard is eating healthy consistently. Focusing on whole foods, not stuffing yourself and eating based on your activity, that is difficult especially doing it consistently over time. Difficult doesn't mean impossible though. Far from. Eating healthy involves making decisions and choices at first that may not be your first choices nor the choices you want and it involves self control. People always say that your abs are made in the kitchen and I believe that whole heartedly. You can work out has hard and long as you want, but if your diet isn't in check and you're not eating well consistently and you're not developing lifestyle habits, you'll never achieve the results you want. Though it has been victim to hate over years as people have this misconception they get you fat, carbs can be paramount in our fitness and health especially as fruits, veggies and grains are loaded with phytonutrients and antioxidants. Ironically, despite people saying not to eat them, they should be approximately 45-60% of our total caloric intake which can lead to more saturated glycogen stores and more available high-octane fuel for the body during exercise. Carb cycling can also be useful. 🥑 Fats are a vital part of our diet and are required for numerous bodily functions including vitamin transport and hormone production. Fats should be approximately 25-35% of our total caloric intake including fats from avocados, nuts, seeds, and healthy oils. 🏋️ Protein is another vital macronutrient that is required for near all bodily functions via enzymatic reactions in metabolic processes as well as protein synthesis/hypertrophy. Got the #waffle maker out and went to town! My husband (that sounds nice, doesn’t it?!) got me starbucks! He’s so cute 😍☕️ #whatsonmyplate (1 serving) mix together 1/4 cup @birchbenders paleo pancake mix + 1 scoop @ancientnutrition vanilla collagen + 1/3 cup unsweetened almond milk + @primalpalate pumpkin pie spice + pumpkin (I split half a can between 3 servings, I’d guess about a 1/4 cup). Cook in a waffle maker! Heat a skillet with coconut oil and add sliced banana + cinnamon. Cook 30 seconds each side. Homemade pesto on store bought pasta 🍝 Pesto was made with roasted peanuts, fresh garlic, olive oil, salt, lemon juice. Boil the pasta and drain the water. In a pan add a bit of olive oil and a tiny bit of butter for flavour. Add the Pesto. Stir slightly and in it add the boiled pasta. Add the fried veggies, I used cherry tomatoes and corn. Yes, I know alcohol is another macro, but I'm not going to advertise anyone to consume that daily. The three main macros are carbs, fats and protein and each serve a different purpose in the body and we should consume different amounts of each to ensure optimal health and function. . 🍠 Carbs are the most abundant macronutrient in nature found in plants. Though it has been victim to hate over years as people have this misconception they get you fat, carbs can be paramount in our fitness and health especially as fruits, veggies and grains are loaded with phytonutrients and antioxidants. Ironically, despite people saying not to eat them, they should be approximately 45-60% of our total caloric intake which can lead to more saturated glycogen stores and more available high-octane fuel for the body during exercise. Carb cycling can also be useful. 🥑 Fats are a vital part of our diet and are required for numerous bodily functions including vitamin transport and hormone production. Fats should be approximately 25-35% of our total caloric intake including fats from avocados, nuts, seeds, and healthy oils. 🏋️ Protein is another vital macronutrient that is required for near all bodily functions via enzymatic reactions in metabolic processes as well as protein synthesis/hypertrophy. Since yesterday I posted the high cable variation, I had to draw this one too as requested. ⁣ ⁣ This exercise is recommended for those people who want to add some more volume to their chest routine & bring up some lagging parts. Just like any other chest movement, it'll be extremely important for you to keep your scapulas depressed and adducted (pulled down and back) in order to properly execute, and get the most, out of this exercise. ⁣ As you set up for the exercise, you want to grab both cables and stay in the middle, one foot step forward for a stable & solid set up and both arms slightly bent to your sides in order to prevent stress at the biceps tendon. Extend your arms to the lower side (straight out at both sides) in a wide arc until you feel a stretch on your chest. Breathe in through your chest/diaphragm as you perform this portion of the movement and keep in mind that throughout the movement, the arms and torso should remain stationary, allowing the movement only to occur at the shoulder joint. Come up with your arms as you're about to hug a very wide person and then come down.
