My dinner came out really good 😋🍲Takes about 40 minutes to make, but is totally worth it. Here’s what I made: - •Baked Sweet Potatoes with drizzled olive oil, 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar, Chili power, paprika, cayenne pepper, & black pepper before baking. Then set on baking sheet and bake for 30min in 425 degrees. - •Red Lentil Dal sautéd in a pan. First add 1 tablespoon olive oil. Then add tiny chopped up yellow onion and minced Garlic for flavor. After that, add 1/2 teaspoon cumin, 1 teaspoon Turmeric, 1/2 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper, some chopped tomatoes. After that is heated up, add about 1 cup of Red Lentils, and pour 2 3/4 vegetable stock. ( I put too less in my dinner as you can tell it looks a little dry, but the info above should be right).Lastly, add kind of a lot of lime juice. Jalapeños and Cilantro would suit this dish too. •And for the rice. I just put 1 cup of White Jazmin Rice and 2 cups of water in my fabulous Rice Maker 😍😂. - ••••Carbs aren’t bad guys, carbs are what we need to keep us going. Carbs do not make you fat! YES. I love that I have so much to look forward to... not just in regards to this weight loss journey and lifestyle change but also life in general. I feel like I've developed an appreciation and respect for each day that I didn't have before. If anything, I dreaded the day and was fearful of what my future would bring. I had no faith in my ability to change and make my life what I wanted. Don't wait until the fear of a chronic illness lingers. Don't wait until you see a picture that makes you feel physically ill with shame. Don't wait until your family and friends speak up about their concern for your health. Just start... even if it's small! Start and don't give up. Celebrate every victory and find the best way for YOU to stay accountable. Don't fall for the quick fixes: pills, teas, shakes WHATEVER. Realize this will require a sustainable, lifelong commitment to exercise and proper nutrition. And for weight loss: a calorie deficit. 3 months ago mornings were hard. I’d sleep until 8am then run around like a crazy woman trying to get everyone ready. Muddled Hubby literally did most of the work. Things had started getting better, but when he started working again I was worried. Would I be able to get the kids ready on time, and manage my days? I needn’t have worried! I’m awake at 6.30 most mornings because I sleep WELL! Even Fitbit tells me my sleep scores have gone from mid 60’s to 80’s most nights! What a delicious dinner! Homemade (Paleo) Beef & Broccoli, Sweet & Sour Chicken, and fried rice... it was as delicious as it looks! With many dietary restrictions, we may not be able to eat at most restaurants, but that doesn’t prevent me from trying to replicate some of our favourites at home.

One of my newfound ways to get that pumpkin spice fix! 👉🏼 chop a peach into bitesized bits, sauté in a lil coconut oil and a lotta pumpkin spice 😉, top with @chobani yogurt [claps & snaps, the new flava-flavs with almond and cashew butter are pretty fab👌🏼]

OMG PURPLE SWEET POTATOES!!!! Recently I was walking in the store and passed by the sweet potatoes and of course I was going to pick some up but the orange ones then I happened to pass by a little section and it said purple sweet potatoes! I nearly passed out because I’ve been looking everywhere for these so I went on a mini shopping haul to put together a delicious meal that has different flavors and textures.
