I did a new thing! My pole studio also offers hoop classes, so I've been learning to hang upside down off of round objects instead of just straight ones. It's been even more fun than I thought to learn a new aerial skill, and I can't wait to keep going! A friendly reminder on this fine Monday of the S.A.I.D principle, which governs many biological processes in the body, including joint/tissue mobility. ⬇️ Specific Adaptations to Imposed Demands ⬇️ • When it comes to the physical body, it is important to maintain the ability to achieve positions that allow you to do things. • If you use a position (take the deep squat for example) on a regular basis, you will maintain it over time. Your joints and tissues will allow for this position and adapt to you placing your body in it. • If you don’t use a position, it will generally become much harder to achieve the position. However your body can still adapt if you begin to expose it to that position again and work into it. 🔑 The SAID principle can be positive or negative, depending on what your body is exposed to. • Exposing it to limited positions (such as sitting in a chair for a significant portion of each day) will cause it to adapt to this. ⬇️ Part of your responsibility as a human should be to work on maintaining the positions you desire to use. Nothing brightens my day like hearing a band momma finding a HELATHY was of releasing stress. 😓 From over-eating ➡️ eating more nutritional meals. 🌿 Andrea has lost 9️⃣1️⃣lbs! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼⤵️ “I’ve been heavy ALL my life. I didn’t ever know what it felt like to be skinny. I always felt bloated, and thought it was normal. Tired all the time, no matter how much sleep I got. My friend started this program and she had so much success so I watched her progress for a while. I always knew I needed to do something but never had that “I’ve had enough” moment. Until last July. My father was in a nursing home as a result of damage done to his body because of a lifetime of poor food choices. He was so heavy we couldn’t lift him, he had so many medical issues the nursing home took a few months to learn how to manage his abundance of needs. I remember the first pains he had when he started to go downhill in health before the nursing home. I remember watching his progressing inability to do this or that because it hurt. And I remember the day I started to feel that first pain doing something simple. When they say it hits you like a ton of bricks, that ah ha moment. They’re not wrong. It was then that I realized I was turning into my dad. I was following his footsteps. I remember screaming NO! It was like being hit with a ton of bricks! I called my friend and said sign me up for the program, I can’t do this anymore. I started in July 2018 with high hopes. I had a faith in myself that I can testify came from God above. With my family and friends support and with the knowledge I’ve learned though the habits of health I’m currently 91 lbs down!! I lost so much of myself but on he best of ways!
