Spierpijn! Het is lang geleden dat mijn spieren zó zuur voelde na een goede workout, maar 100 keer beter dan blessurepijn. Dat ik blessuregevoelig ben is inmiddels wel duidelijk, helaas. Tijdens mijn vakantie kijk ik voor de zoveelste keer kritisch terug op de afgelopen periode. Wat ging er mis? Ben ik niet voldoende hersteld? Had ik het anders moeten opbouwen? Heb ik te veel gedaan? Of te weinig? Of was het dik keer gewoon pech? Hoe het ook zij, ik maak één duidelijke beslissing tijdens mijn vakantie. Mijn beslissingen tijdens de vakantie waren overigens niet veel anders dan Vanille of Yoghurt ijs? Pizza of Pasta? Zwembad of Strand? Zo gezegend was ik namelijk op vakantie, dat ik alleen maar dit soort keuzes hoefde te maken, en oh ja! We moesten ook één keer de keuze maken, blijven we in de regen zitten of vertrekken we naar een andere camping? Het antwoord is trouwens altijd pizza… Terug naar die beslissing die er wél toe deed, "na de vakantie ga ik weer meer krachttrainen". De afgelopen maanden deed ik braaf aan coretrainingen, balanstrainingen en volgde ik de tips van de fysio. Maar de prioriteit lag altijd bij de drie duursporten. Mijn gevoel verteld me nu dat ik dit nodig heb voor een betere houding, balans, sterker lichaam en om een nieuwe blessuren te voorkomen. Hoe ik dit ga combineren met drie sporten? Ik heb echt nog geen idee… En zo gezegd, zo gedaan, deze week deed ik 3 krachttrainingen, thuis, met de focus op steeds een ander lichaamsdeel. Zweten 100%, ik heb spieren geraakt die ik al een tijdje niet meer gevoeld had en nu heb ik spierpijn. Spierpijn van het soort, “ik kom nóóit meer uit bed”, “WAAR is die traplift?”, “WIE heeft de keukenkastjes verhoogd”, dat soort spierpijn. Dramatisch, o-ve-ral spierpijn en damn it feels good!

It can be lonely at times. I get FOMO when I scroll social media and see people I know training together 😕 they always look like they are having fun and heloibg one another and always training together. It's you against you and that alone can be lonely. It's not like a boot camp or group fittness where you show up with people you know class after class and someone is there to take the session and you either half arse the class or give it your all but it doesn't matter coz you will just show up again next time and do it again 💪💯 You have to motivate yourself every training session. You have to show up and give it your best every time with no one cheering you on 🎉🥉 of you don't do the work there will be no progress! There no "let's go work out" to a gym buddy. Don't get me wrong I can chat away for hours to people at the gym, we have to work out jaw right 😂 but no one is there to "train" with 💪 No one gets the feeling of what it feels like to train hard, progress, no one actually cares about powerlifitng 😂😂 I am sure some people do, maybe 🤔 It's not like a team sport where you train as a team each week and play as a team week after week for months on end 🏈 Sometimes it can be lonely when it's just you against you, training day after day. I remember looking at this picture and hating my "mum tum", I remember thinking I was still not "slim" enough so I had started swimming again to shift the weight 🤦‍♀️ 2 years on and another baby via cesarean, I would really like that body back now thanks lol Before I fell pregnant with Harlow I was at my biggest of 7st 7! And during that pregnancy due to complications (and cake) I ballooned to 12st 13! Recovery was hard from the crash csection and took me ages to shift the weight. Think I managed to get down to 8st eventually. Before I had Alden I was 9st and I went up to 11st 6 so not as big gain this time (yet he weighed more than Harlow lol) I'm finding it harder to loose all the baby weight this time. Motivation is lacking, I guess I have less time with two kids and my will power against bad food hasnt been great... My kangeroo pouch and big bum need addressing 🙈 I need to tone up more than anything and just be healthier. I'm going to go swimming once a week (hopefully, I mean I gota fit it around Naths crazy work hours and 2 children but I'll try) and home work outs. If you have any good workout recommendations I can do from home please let me know 💕

Decline dumbbell press I did 10 reps but the camera wasn't recording 😂😂 you can tell I'm done by the 3rd rep cuz I made this right after. This excercise primarily works the lower and somewhat mid chest but your triceps play a huge roll in it too and so do your shoulders. I used to do this with a barbell but recently I've started preferring dumbbells since you require more strenght and stability to balance them. If you're a beginner, get a good grip on a barbell first. This excercise also creates a really good looking curve to the bottom and side of your chest. Save it and give it a try 🔥
